About ICS2024

The National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) celebrates its 100th anniversary, tracing its origins to 1924 during the Japanese colonial era. Over the years, it underwent transformations and became NPUST in 1997, playing a pivotal role in Taiwan’s economic development, particularly in modernizing domestic agriculture. Beyond academic pursuits, NPUST recognizes a broader responsibility and integrates sustainable development principles into education, research, governance, and community service, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The university emphasizes interdisciplinary teaching and research across its seven colleges, addressing various issues such as agricultural production, environmental ecology, elderly welfare, and social responsibility. Actively practicing University Social Responsibility (USR), NPUST serves as a local think tank, contributing to community revitalization, and has received widespread recognition and commendations in various evaluations and rankings.

To foster the exchange of best practices and innovative research on sustainability and University Social Responsibility (USR), the 2024 Celebrating Centennial NPUST International Conference on Sustainability (ICS2024) is centered around two key topics: “Driving Changes through USR: Advocacy and Innovation of Public Welfare”, and “Achieving Sustainable Future: Innovative Application of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture”.

Scheduled for November 15-16, 2024, at the main campus of the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, ICS2024 serves as a global platform for sharing the latest research and knowledge in these transdisciplinary fields. We invite our esteemed global partners and researchers to capitalize on this academic exchange opportunity by joining us in Taiwan. Participate in the creation of international and interdisciplinary research teams, share valuable insights, and contribute to publications that collectively drive progress and innovation.
